Edo Range State is a range detector that treats a range as a phase with a start, a development and an end. On every closed bar it examines a window of bars, 20 by default, and confirms a range only when three tests are met at once: the window is compact against the 50-bar ATR, price shows no net direction because its efficiency is low, and it has rotated, visiting each edge at least twice. The box is then fixed, the indicator counts edge tests while the range lasts, and when price closes outside it tells a breakout in progress from a confirmed one and from a failed one. Finished ranges stay on the chart, green or red by the side they broke through. Boxes, edge tests and breakout verdicts are settled on bar close, and the indicator needs neither volume nor higher-timeframe data.

Configuration

Edo Range State works without adjustment on stocks, indices, forex, gold and crypto on any timeframe. The two inputs most users touch are the Detection Window, 20 bars by default and 40 to 60 for larger ranges, and Range Edges, wicks or bodies. Breakout Buffer, Closes Needed to Confirm and Early Confirmation Distance set how strict a breakout must be, and the panel offers Full and Compact detail, four corners, two sizes and dark or light theme.
