An anchored VWAP is the average price paid, weighted by volume, since a chosen starting point. Edo VWAP Core and Edo Multi-Anchor VWAP both turn that number into a value scale: standard-deviation bands around it, a premium and discount reading and a panel with the exact levels. They share the vocabulary, so the confusion is natural. What separates them is the number of anchors and whether the reading stays on one chart or is aggregated across timeframes.

What Edo VWAP Core draws

Two anchored VWAPs, one for the current week and one for the current month, each reset at the start of its period, volume-weighted on the hlc3 source and non-repainting. Around each it draws ±1σ and ±2σ deviation bands, shades the premium zone (warm) and the discount zone (cool) between them, and colours the area between price and the reference VWAP by state. Every bar is graded on a five-level scale: Premium Extreme, Premium, Neutral VWAP, Discount and Discount Extreme. The σ Distance reading is a volatility-normalised z-score of how far price sits from fair value, with a consecutive-bar counter. The reference VWAP is the weekly one by default and can be switched to the monthly. Nine native alerts cover state changes, VWAP crosses and new anchors. Anchored to the week and the month rather than the session, it is built for swing reading on daily and 4-hour charts.

What Edo Multi-Anchor VWAP draws

Up to five independent anchored VWAPs on one chart: session, weekly, monthly, a custom date and an event VWAP that re-anchors automatically on the last detected swing (Auto Swing, Highest High or Lowest Low). The same ±1σ and ±2σ volume-weighted bands frame the premium and discount zones, and the five-state classifier runs on a reference anchor you choose. The σ Dist z-score is computed per anchor, so it compares across any asset. On top sits a multi-timeframe engine on four configurable frames (1H, 4H, D and W by default), non-repainting, that aggregates into a single mean-reversion consensus from −8 to +8. A sixteen-row panel gives the full real-time readout per anchor, with thirteen configurable alerts and optional background and candle colouring by state. The orientation is mean reversion: the VWAP is a value magnet, and extreme deviations from it tend to correct.

When VWAP Core is the one

When you swing trade on daily or 4-hour charts and want fair value anchored to the horizons that matter there, the week and the month, with nothing else on the chart. It tells you whether price is cheap or expensive against those two references, flags overextension when a bar reaches Premium Extreme or Discount Extreme beyond ±2σ, and gives you the reference VWAP as dynamic support or resistance during trending pullbacks. If one reading on one chart is what you act on, Core already has the whole scale.

When Multi-Anchor VWAP is the one

When the tension between horizons is the information you trade. Price can be cheap against the session VWAP and expensive against the monthly one at the same time, and Multi-Anchor is built to show exactly that: five references, a σ Dist per anchor and a consensus that says whether a deep discount, or an extreme premium, lines up across four timeframes. It is also the tool for the event VWAP, anchored to the last swing, to gauge the health of a move that has just started. If you look from several horizons before deciding, Core would need several charts to do what this one does in one.

When you want both

Rarely on the same chart, because Multi-Anchor already includes the weekly and monthly anchors that Core draws. The sensible pairing is by workspace: Core on the daily chart you check every morning, with its lighter footprint and free access, and Multi-Anchor on the chart where you make the decision and want the four-frame consensus in front of you. Whichever you run, keep the same reference anchor for the state so both agree on what premium and discount mean.

Does Edo Multi-Anchor VWAP include what Edo VWAP Core does?
Its weekly and monthly anchors, the ±1σ and ±2σ bands and the five-state premium and discount scale, yes. It adds three more anchors, a sigma distance per anchor and the four-frame consensus. What it does not replace is the simplicity of a single reference on a single chart.
Which timeframes are these tools built for?
VWAP Core is anchored to the week and the month rather than the session, so it is built for swing reading on daily and 4-hour charts. Multi-Anchor VWAP adds a session anchor and reads four frames at once, 1H, 4H, D and W by default, so it covers intraday and swing horizons from one chart.
Is the −8 to +8 consensus a signal?
It is a context reading, not a trade signal. It aggregates the premium and discount state of four timeframes into one number: values toward +8 mean a discount aligned across frames, values toward −8 an aligned premium. What you do with that alignment is still your decision.
