Put Edo Smart Money Map and Edo Order Blocks on the same chart and the boxes often land in similar places, because both look back for the same thing: the last opposite candle before a move. What sends them looking is different. Smart Money Map starts from swings and asks whether structure has broken, as a continuation (BOS) or a reversal (CHoCH); the order block is a by-product of that break. Order Blocks ignores swings entirely: it starts from displacement and asks how good each zone is. If your doubt is whether to watch the blocks that hold or the ones that failed and flipped, that is a different question, answered in Order Blocks or Breaker Blocks.

What Edo Smart Money Map draws

Market structure, read from price alone. Swings are confirmed pivots whose size comes from the Structure Profile: Scalper (5 bars each side), Swing (10, the default) or Long Term (21), with optional HH, HL, LH and LL labels. When a closed bar ends beyond the last confirmed swing, the indicator draws a line from that swing to the break and labels it: BOS if the break goes with the current structure, CHoCH if it goes against it and flips the bias. Each confirmed break then looks back, up to 20 bars by default (Impulse Lookback), for the last opposite candle, and draws its range as a Bull OB or Bear OB box extended to the right. A block lives in two states: Active, and Mitigated as soon as price touches it, by wick or by close depending on the Mitigation input. The panel shows the Structure (Bullish, Bearish or Neutral), the Last Event and the count of active blocks on each side, and six alerts cover BOS, CHoCH and mitigation on both sides.

What Edo Order Blocks draws

Order blocks and nothing else, detected by displacement: a closed candle that finishes beyond the highest high or the lowest low of the last 10 candles (Displacement Lookback) triggers a search up to 15 candles back (Origin Lookback) for the last opposite candle. Before anything is drawn, the zone gets a quality score from 0 to 100 that combines body strength (30%), volume (30%), displacement strength (20%) and trend alignment (20%), and anything below the Minimum Score, 40 by default, is discarded. The score is printed on the label. Each zone moves through three states: Active; Tested when price comes back and touches it, with a thicker border; and Mitigated when a candle closes beyond its far side. The panel lists the active blocks per side, the Strongest OB with its score and price, and the Minimum Score in use, and six alerts cover new, tested and mitigated blocks.

When Smart Money Map is the one

When you need to know who is in control before you pick a zone. Smart Money Map gives you the bias and the event that set it: a run of BOS in one direction is a trend at work, and the first CHoCH against it is the warning that control may be changing hands. Its blocks only exist where structure actually broke, so they come with that context built in, and its strict idea of mitigation keeps only untouched zones in the Active count. If your question is "which way is structure pointing, and where did the last break start", this is the answer.

When Order Blocks is the one

When you trade the zones themselves and want them ranked. Order Blocks finds blocks wherever an impulse clears the recent range, whether or not a swing broke, and tells you how strong each one is: a Bull OB at 80 is a far firmer reference than one at 45, and the Minimum Score lets you tighten or loosen the chart. Its lifecycle also lets a zone survive its first touch: the return marks it Tested, which is the reaction moment, and only a close through the zone retires it. If your question is "which of these zones deserves my attention", this is the answer.

When you want both

When you want structure and quality on one chart. Use Smart Money Map for direction, trading with the bias after a BOS and treating a CHoCH as the signal to reassess, and Order Blocks to grade the zones in that direction. A scored block that sits where Smart Money Map drew its own block after a break has two independent reasons behind it: an impulse strong enough to pass the score and a confirmed break of structure. To keep the chart readable, hide the order blocks in Smart Money Map with Show Order Blocks and let Order Blocks draw the zones.

Is an order block in Edo Smart Money Map the same as one in Edo Order Blocks?
The zone is defined the same way, the range of the last opposite candle before the move, but the trigger is not. Smart Money Map only looks for it after a confirmed BOS or CHoCH, up to 20 bars back. Order Blocks looks for it after any displacement, up to 15 bars back, and only draws it if its score reaches the Minimum Score. The same candle can become a block in one tool and not in the other.
Does Mitigated mean the same thing in both?
No, and it is the easiest detail to miss. In Smart Money Map a block is Mitigated on the first touch: a wick into the zone with Mitigation on Wick, or a close inside it on Close. In Order Blocks that first touch only marks the block Tested; it becomes Mitigated when a candle closes beyond its far side, below a Bull OB or above a Bear OB.
Do either of them repaint?
No. Smart Money Map validates every BOS and CHoCH on the closed bar, and Order Blocks only accepts a displacement on the closed bar, so a new block never appears and vanishes mid-bar. Keep in mind that the swings of Smart Money Map are confirmed pivots: a swing is only known 5, 10 or 21 bars after it forms, depending on the profile.
